This New Milford based company has a fleet of 14 vehicles comprised of luxury sedans, vans, stretch limousines, and now an SUV. For the past several years, Kirk Englund, the owner of KEE Limousine & I’ll Drive livery Service, has been planning to add an SUV to his fleet. "There really wasn’t a call for a luxury SUV in the New Milford area over the last few years. The timing just wasn’t right, but the market has changed and people are now inquiring about using SUV’s for their family trips", explains Kirk. "We have clients and customers that have 4 to 5 people with luggage and we just couldn’t fit them safely into a Lincoln Town Car. This gives us, and our customers, another option and a very nice option".

Adding this SUV to their fleet was not an easy task. Being a provider of public transportation, KEE Limousine & I’ll Drive Livery Service had to meet the qualifications set forth by the CT Department of Transportation and pass the CT DOT’s inspection before even registering their SUV. Before Kirk purchased their Cadillac Escalade, he consulted with a representative from CT DOT. "I knew it wouldn’t be easy, and there would be hurdles we had to jump", Kirk explains, "that’s why from the very beginning I was on the phone with DOT finding out what they needed. I’ve heard horror stories of companies just going out, buying a vehicle, and then finding out it will never pass a CT DOT inspection. I wasn’t going to make that mistake. After speaking with DOT, I knew the seating layout was a major factor, and we also had to fabricate a luggage barrier along with a few other minor additions."

Kirk believes this was the right time and the right vehicle. Within one week of the purchase, the SUV has been reserved numerous times and there have been several other inquiries. This SUV is perfect for the family travel needs, and luxurious enough to meet the needs for a wedding, prom, and other special occasions.
